Terms & Payment Policy
Version v1 — effective May 25, 2026
All ride payments are final
When you confirm a ride in Hometown, you authorize us to charge your saved payment method for the full fare once the ride is marked complete. All completed-ride charges are final. Refunds, adjustments, and cancellation fees are handled only inside the Hometown app, per the rules below.
By booking, you agree not to dispute completed-ride charges with your bank or card issuer. If you believe a completed charge is wrong, contact Hometown support inside the app first — we will review GPS, pickup/drop-off PIN verification, and trip records and resolve eligible issues directly.
Cancellations
- Before a driver accepts: free cancellation, $0 charged.
- After a driver accepts (rider cancels): a deposit fee equal to 20% of the fare estimate (minimum $2, maximum $25) is charged to your payment method.
- Driver cancels: always free. No fee is charged and any pending amount is released.
- Every cancellation requires a reason, which we use to improve dispatch.
How payments work
Riders pay by debit card, credit card, or bank account saved in the app. Drivers are paid through their connected payout account after each completed ride, minus the platform fee. Tips go 100% to the driver.
